Founded in 227 BCE by Phoenicians from Carthage, the city’s walls protected the isthmus connecting the peninsula to the mainland.

Discovery & Interpretation

Unearthed in 1987 beneath a parking lot, a 30 m wall up to 3 m high now lies under a modern shelter with audiovisual displays.
